A Sanctuary for Caregivers

Heartplace Hospital was created as a refuge — a place where those who spend their lives caring for others can rest, restore, and be supported in return. The founder engaged Anna Grace Design to create a peaceful, nourishing environment that would support both healing work and everyday family living.

Located in a tranquil country setting just minutes from Mangawhai Village, the home is surrounded by lush greenery. This natural backdrop became the starting point for the interior palette. Multiple tones of green were layered throughout to draw the landscape inward and create a sense of calm, grounding, and connection — qualities essential for visitors seeking restoration.

Soft accents of colour were introduced sparingly to uplift the atmosphere while preserving the overall serenity of the space. The result is an interior that feels quietly alive rather than visually busy.

The client is deeply attuned to energy, so material selection was approached with particular care. Wherever possible, high-quality New Zealand–made products were chosen, and furnishings were arranged to allow openness, flow, and a sense of spaciousness.

Anna Grace Design specified the interior paint palette for the entire home and fully furnished both living areas.
